brooch is back

do you have broooch ??? do you plan to ever get one ?
 if you dont then run to the shop and get yourself one
iMuch-loved by wide-shouldered power-dressers in the Eighties, the bold brooch is back—but this time around it's not about jewel-encrusted serpents and cheetahs. Lanvin's Alber Elbaz designed two of our favorite whimsical pins, both perfect when piled on in pairs and worn with a ladylike dress or added as an afterthought to a favorite handbag.
i will give you examples ..
tommorow !
good evening peeps !

What’s Best With My Leggings

What’s Best With My Leggings
Photo: Peggy Hagopain/Time Inc. Digital Studio
NO FAIL: Long Vest
Layers that fall below your rear provide enough coverage to avoid embarrassment (they also help minimize the width of hips and thighs). If you opt for a chunky, oversize knit, leave the front open, so you don't get swallowed up by your enormous sweater. Tucking leggings into boots furthers the streamlined effect.

Wool sweater, Twinkle by Wenlan, $297; 415-441-6727. Cotton T, 88 Orange, $89; 310-458-2095. Rayon-nylon-spandex leggings, BCBG Max Azria, $148; Suede boots, Dolce Vita, $185;

All american Par Ivon

It arrives smack-dab in the middle of New York fashion week, but the latest project from Kitsuné is tout Français. The line is debuting Kitsuné Parisien, a collection that channels collegiate prepster staples, but reflects the City of Light’s unfussy chic—and is made, by the way, using only French manufacturers. That makes for pieces with more history than first look would suggest. Take a cleanly cut polo embroidered with the brand’s fox logo in the colors of the French Tricolore (above). “It’s a classic, sporty French look,” says creative director Masaya Kuroki. “We got a really amazing manufacturer for the polo. They invented maille piqué cotton!”

Americans will have a chance to inspect the wares when the line comes to Barneys New York for a three-week pop-up shop beginning tomorrow. The limited-edition polo will be on offer, as will the fall “Ivy League” collection. But despite the line’s Parisian leanings, Kuroki and co. are celebrating in a true-blue U.S.A. way. For Fashion’s Night Out, they’ve hired the Heartschallenger ice cream truck to roll around town, dispensing sweets and fashion. “An ice cream truck is fun but exotic for us French people,” Kuroki laughs.

the new bammm!

Step into designer Alejandro Ingelmo’s not-yet-opened subterranean Soho shop and his touches are everywhere. They surface in the long leather couch that divides the narrow but light-filled space into men’s and women’s sides (Ingelmo designed it himself). They’re in the faux shoe boxes—slide one out and they’re pint-sized—that line the walls (also of his creation). They’re in the oversized photos in the rear of Ingelmo’s family’s massive shoe shop in a long-distant pre-Castro Cuba. “I’m proud of my heritage,” Ingelmo says. “I wanted to make it like an old cobbler’s shop.”

The shoes on view yesterday at Ingelmo’s Spring ‘11 presentation, however, were the epitome of modern. Ingelmo’s signature stilettos are served up in a comfortable (really!) stretch nappa leather. “I don’t want [my customer] to only be able to wear it for an hour,” he says. “For me, it’s how you get the most longevity out of a shoe.” Sumptuous animal skins and basket-woven pumps feature in the collection, too, along with a new, especially slim heel he calls the Grace. They’re all in muted tones inspired by Brutalist architecture of the fifties and sixties.

The shop opens officially later this month, and some passersby may find it hard to spot; it’ll be identified only by a plaque that reads “Shop.” But cognoscenti should have no problem picking it out—not least by the sight of Ingelmo himself, who says he’s taken to sweeping the front stairs ever since he first moved in.
